Hi, right now I am a Junior in college at will be applying to medical school probably in the uopcoming summer. I was wondering if my criminal record which I got when I 17, a senior in HS will be on my record. Also will med school be able to see this record of me or not since i was a minor when it occured? thank you

The answer to this question is best handled by an attorney. Don't assume that age 17 is under the age of emancipation, that is stated dependent. For example, if I recall correctly, the age of emancipation (ie no longer a minor is 17 in Massachusetts.

I would not mislead anyone on the application. You may get into medical school, BUT you will definitely get called on it when applying for a medical license.

A criminal offense does not preclude you from getting into medical school or a medical license. It would depend on your explanation of the offense as well as the magnitude and nature of the offense.

Bottom line...you would need to get clarification from any attorney about this. I would not lie, that will definitely come back to haunt you.
