Has anyone heard from Pitt yet? Or do you know anyone who has gotten an MD/PhD interview? I thought I was a great fit, and I haven't heard a word! And to tell you the truth, I am in crisis mode. My grades are well above a 3.9, my MCAT wasn't bad (36) and I have had two summers + a semester of research experience. Actually, I am in the middle of my second full semester of research. Granted, it has all been in one lab, but it's experience nonetheless. Am I doomed NOT to get in to an MSTP program? I only have 4 interviews so far. Does anyone have any encouraging words??
Thanks.

There's no reason to panic. It's still early in the season.
4 interviews at this point is far better returns than I had (first invite came in late october)

Calm down, dude!

You have nothing to worry about. My scores were similar to yours. My first interview came in November (Albert Einstein)... and I didn't hear about any other schools until January. I really thought that was it. Then I got 12 more interviews.

If you get worried, it's ok to call them and ask about the status of your application. 2 programs "misplaced" my application (one was both MD/MSTP, the other was just MSTP that was lost), so it's a really good idea to follow up every few weeks or so. But it's still really early, considering non-rolling acceptance schools won't make any decisions until March (is that still right?).

So chill 🙂

I think you'll do well in the process, but you are a bit light on the research side for MSTPs, and this may hamper you at some of the most competitive schools, Just my opinion, of course.

I've got my Pitt interview next week.

aw man, don't worry.

i don't even have any interview invites yet...i'm hoping theyll come soon
