Just wondering about critical point, for a fluid to be considered in critical phase do temperature AND pressure both have to exceed critical point temp and pressure? or say if I have a temp exceeding the critical point but a pressure below it would the fluid still be in a critical state?

At the critical point, a fluid would be homogeneous. That would mean that that the delta H = 0. At this point, the phases are basically the same (liquid & gas). Beyond the point, for a phase to happen, you need to have the temperature AND pressure to exceed the critical point.

this was how i understood it, personally. below critP and above critT is still a gas, i think.
