Critical velocity equation, fluids

Should I memorize the equation for critical velocity of a fluid (Vc=Nn/pD) regarding laminar flow/turbulence? If not, what important ideas should I take home? Thank You

I don't think we should memorize the equation... I think if they give it, it'll be in a passage with the equation and then there will probably be a question that you have to work with the relationship between velocity of the fluid with the density or viscosity!

The main idea is that, the greater the viscosity, the smaller the Reynolds and smaller Reynold number means less turbulence.

As a ball park, also remember that the flow is turbulent when Re > 20,000
