drop your interproximals with a carbide (i.e. 556 or 245) then go along with your standard chamfer

Are you talking real crowns or typodont?

If you're just starting out as a dental student, use the burs and the techniques you've been taught. Once you get more comfortable and are looking to get faster, consider the reverse crown prep method. Has made my crown preps a lot more efficient and reproducible.

Whats wrong with a flame bur? Suppose you want to put a bevel on your margin what are you going to use? 🤔
