Hey, has anyone heard from CSU Northridge yet?? I know they don't do interviews and will simply tell you whether you got in or not, so I was just wondering if anyone has heard back from them yet or if they know when they will begin contacting people. Thanks!

I've heard they don't get back to applicants until April, which is really late compared to most schools

End of March/Early April, they're only accepting 31 students this year and had 1000+ applications.

Admission emails have been sent from CSUN... did anyone else get one?

optionpaloma, did you receive an acceptance?

hahah the same thing happened to me for a different school. Congrats! that's awesome

nice. I wonder if they sent out all of them. I didn't get anything in my email today.

I got the acceptance email today. But I'm not going there (already chose UCSF) so hopefully that opens up a spot for someone! My email said they're having 32 students.

I'm in too 🙂 The only problem I have is that even though it's a CSU, it's not that much cheaper than a lot of other private or out-of-state programs.

Congrats, bulldogpt! And dang, your stats are commanding! Do you have a first choice?

I have the same problem you have with CSU -- it's still pretty darn expensive.

My other option is NAU, which would be $40k cheaper (they're offering in-state tuition the first year and I would get residency the other 2 years), but the thought of leaving Cali still doesn't sit well with me. CSUN and NAU are my top choices, though, and I'm both overjoyed and torn about having to choose.

I got accepted to CSUN as well! I now have to choose between them and USC. Most likely I will choose CSUN because it is pretty much half the cost of USC, and I do like the small program atmosphere compared to the huge program of SC. I really wish Northridge was still around 30k, but there's nothing that can be done about it now since it's a doctoral program. Still, I think 75k is a bargain compared to USC's 140k for tuition.

Other things I'm thinking about are my commute (40 minutes to Northridge, only 10-15 for USC's health science campus). Sometimes the prestige of USC tries to lure me in too! Uggghhhh...where would you guys attend?

10+ years of paying off tuition vs. 5+ years of paying off tuition. I would go with CSUN for sure. It would be a different story if i hadn't heard such good things about northridge. I have talked to numerous CIs who have said that their students from northridge are extremely well prepared in their knowledge and their manual clinical skills.

Congrats, joeyjukebox! I also applied to USC (haven't heard back yet), but now that CSUN's an option, I'm no longer considering them. Like you, I live much closer to USC, but their tuition scares me.

Hey I just call from there. I guess I am on their second preference list. They don't take interviews

I also got into CSUN a few weeks ago and accepted. Do I need to do anything else right now?
Also, is there a facebook group for the class of 2015 that I am not aware of?

Congrats to everybody that got in. I cannot believe that only 31 out of 1,000 are getting in. Are all of the new applicants from California as well?
