Cube Counting Illussions

hmmm I dont know what you mean about illusions per se... Theres no trick cubes that are totally hidden but not really there. I had problems on the real DAT with one figure in particular. It looked like there was some kind of elevated bridge between two blocks and I didn't know what to think of it because I had never seen a cube counting example with bricks that were seemingly suspended in mid-air. Just my 2 cents
 
I had no tricky illusions on my exam but CDP does have some ridiculous ones! I think overall the real test is very straightforward.

every cube must be supported by the floor or another cube beneath it. If it looks like its suspended, you must try to visualize another setup.
