I was wondering if anybody got any "illusion" cubes on the real test. I have seen atleast one on each of the CDP tests and some of them are kinda tricky.

Please let me know if they showed up on the test and if you know what I am talking about 🙂 Thanks!!!

I just recently took the DAT and got a 26 on the PAT portion. From what I remember, there wasn't really any illusion cubes. But the key is to pay attention to the lines, which gives you a hint as to whether there are extra cubes that you cannot see. But like I said, there wasn't any that I was aware of...I hope this helps...

I don't think I got any tricky questions on the cube counting section. difficulty is about the same as Topscore.

From the whole structure there was one cube that looked like an illusion... It wasn't as bad as CDP though

I recently took the Dat and I agree with fayrie, u just need to pay attention to the lines to see if there are extra cubes hidden behind others..... i think there might have been 1 phantom cube, but i cant really remember...

honestly, i find it extremely hard to decipher that illusion/hidden cubes..

quite funny tho.cube counting supposed to be easiest. as i do more, my perceptual ability on other section increases, i feel like that on cube counting slowly decreases......

ughhhh

anyone plz share tips for cube counting illusion/shadow/invisible/whatever name plz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you guys~

i am taking my test tomorrow and knowing that there aren't too many of those tricky figures in there is a bit of a relief. wish me luck 🙂

I wish you good luck and wish me too~

we are gonna ROCK it.

I definitely got "illusion" cubes but you just got to be perceptive and look around before you mark your answer. It's not too difficult. Also another thing to be wary about is that on the real thing you get about 2-3 questions per diagram as opposed to CDP where you get 3-5 questions per diagram. More diagrams means that you can't count different squares on one go because its likely they wont ask about it. I know on CDP my strategy was to count everything and hold the answer for 0-4 sides that way I could answer several questions in a row fast. On the brighter side the structures are definitely smaller so it made up for the time loss of doing each question individually. Hope this helps.
