Hello All,

I just have a couple of questions that apply to the cumulative and science gpa's:

Question 1: Does the average cumulative gpa and science gpa of accepted dental school applicants traditionally rise from year to year?

Question 2: As of now (end of my sophomore year of college) I'm trying to decide whether or not I should apply for dental school at the end of my junior year or senior year? While I have the vast majority of my upper division science courses yet to be take, I only have 3.4 sgpa with a 3.7 cgpa. Would it be more beneficial for me to apply after my senior year so that I might have the opportunity to more dramatically increase my science gpa?

Any advice that you could offer would be greatly appreciated!

With all my thanks,

AsTuDeNt101 😀

1. I've talked to the admissions departments of two dental schools and they both say that the competition is increasing. I don't have any statistics, but it seems like the average GPA and DAT scores would be increasing.
2. Your GPA isn't horrible. Do well on the DAT and apply after your Junior year.
