I like to cruise all over SDN to read and learn a little. In the med student forums they talk about shelf exams. Are they standardized exams for certain rotations? In short, what are they? 😕

No, the way I get it (Im not a med student, but have a friend who is) they are like mock board exams that they have usually at the end of the year (MS1 in my friend's case)---I know this isn't that helpful, but they are not for rotations. 😳

At MSUCOM, shelf exams are taken after some of our rotations.

Shelf exams are specific exams for the core rotations. They are meant to imitate boards in some respect. They are ususally part of your rotation grade.
