I’m applying to medical school this cycle. I have a strong desire to incorporate research into my career after medical school while still being a clinician. I understand that there are research oriented medical schools out there but they are all high stat schools.

I have a 3.78 cGPA and a 3.70 sGPA and a 512 MCAT. I do also have some significant research experience and a poster presentation.

On top of this I have an IA due to being in the presence of alcohol my freshman year.

I’m having trouble aligning the mission of the schools I want to go to with my own while also aligning my stats. Do I have to change my expectations? I appreciate your help.
Your MCAT is not at the level for the Research Powerhouses.

You can always do research as a Fellow. And old friend of mine did hem/onc research at Sloan-Kettering and he went to U WV.
