I was wondering if any current IU or ICO students would mind providing feedback on what you like and do not like about the optometry school that you are attending. The reason that I ask is that I am extremely conflicted about my two choices for an optometric education and I have to decide soon on which school I would like to attend either IU or ICO. If anyone would be willing to provide any feedback that would be greatly appreciated.😉

As always, calculate the tuition and cost of living and go to the one that's cheaper. They're both fine schools and you'll get a good education and have a great time at either of them. Figure out which will leave you with the least amount of debt.

IMO the only reason to choose ICO would be to live in the big city. IU is less expensive, has a lower cost of living, and has an impeccable reputation.

Of course, as always, I'd prefer to keep students away from the huge private OD mills like ICO that saturate the profession.

Yes Chicago is a great city and your experience here will be great. But also keep in mind that we have one of the best clinical programs in the country. Our patient base is extremely diverse so you'll get the opportunity to become exposed to vast range of disease and ocular conditions. That along with the fact that we have a residence across the street to live in were my two big reasons for coming here.
