So I been accepted into both and I really want to go into Nova because i really like the campus and the atmosphere a lot more than Lecom because lecom seem kind of dry and middle of no where surrounded by elderly people. However from that thread about Nova's probation i'm now leaning toward Lecom Bran.

Can someone give me some insight in both or any information at all.

I go to neither school - but I am from Florida, and know a bit about both schools (I used to work for Nova).

If I were you, I would contact both schools and discuss your concerns. See what they say. The manner in which they respond is very indicative of the school's temperament. Personally, I would go with the smaller school of pharmacy.

I know Dr. Malave, he is a good man and I believe he is certainly capable of righting the ship at Nova - but I have never been a fan of the culture that is Nova.

Another recommendation - by posting this thread, you may only find those that are disgruntled with Nova right now. Instead, do a search for Nova and Lecom. Then send PMs to people you have seen posting in the threads. This way you are directly seeking out the people with the information you desire (rather than passively hoping they see your thread).

Either way, congrats on your multiple offers - now you are selecting them, rather than the other way around.

accepted to both as well, i live in the vicinity close to nova, i am more attracted to Lecom, new facility, quiet area for studying, and home isnt that far, and housing there is dirt cheap compared to here in ft. lauderdale/davie. and with the whole probaion thing, im really leaning more towards lecom. Going to Nova would save me a lil bit of money thou.

lol,
i myself am in your predicament guys...
Any advise from current students would be much appreciated

I can tell you my experience at LECOM has been great so far. I am in my second semester of my first year and I am very happy with the choice I made. My teachers are all great and very helpful. I just like the fact that we have a faculty that works with us and sole purpose is to help us through this difficult journeys. I can say we have one of the best professors of dynamics and kinetics in the United States. He has taught in Massachusetts, South in Savanah and is a world recognized professor. If you would like to look him up, his name is Sunil Jambehkar. His class is extremely challenging and at times you will hate him, but you will be all the better of a pharmacist because of him. Although, it seems we are in the middle of nowhere, the reality is that we have just as much fun no matter what. The best part about our location is the fact that studying is never a problem. We get our work done and if we really want to party, we go to Tampa which is only about a 30 minute drive. The classes that are above yours will be very helpful in your 4 years here. We have a big brother/ big sister program that will allow you to be in contact with either a p2 or p3 to help you through any trouble that you might have. In general, I can just say that location shouldn't necessarily be that big of a factor because you are going to be studying a lot for the next couple of years. I live 20 minutes away from the beach and I have gone only 2 times. Who cares about all the things that are around you if you can't really enjoy them. Anyways, good luck in picking a school and go with the school that made you feel the most comfortable. For my particular case that was LECOM
