Current PT students....prereq question

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
2! You should be set if you have 2 to complete. I would try to have your Anatomy and Physiology classes finished since those are really key for PT school

I have 3 prereqs to complete (completing all three this semester - Chem II, physics II and A and PII)

Do you think I still have a chance. MY GPA = 3.9, prereq (so far) = 3.8 and I completed all my observation hours and sent in 3 Letters of. Rec.

What year are you applying for? And is this semester winter or spring? Your GPAs are fantastic. You definitely have a chance. I would suggest trying to get a job as an aide - I think completing more than the required hours is invaluable on your applications.

Im taking the last three prereqs this semester (spring). I am applied for fall 2012 so I am waiting (hoping) for an acceptance letter.

Here are my pre req grades so far

A+P I = A
A+P lab = A
Chem I = B+
Chem lab = A
Med Term = A
Physics = A
Physics lab = A
Psychology = A
Sociology = A

So all my prereqs are good... Im just really worried that I wont get in becuase I have 3 classes that are undone.

Hmm.. I know for some schools they will only allow you to have two classes outstanding. But talk to the schools. For instance, for NYU, I had an outstanding Public Speaking class that I could not find anywhere. I talked to the admissions coordinator and she told me I could use something else, like a leadership role where I spoke to a large group in place of this class.

On the other hand, if you aren't TOTALLY set on going to school this year, I am an advocate of taking your time with your classes, enjoying some real life experience. Just think about how strong your application will be with your awesome grades and then more clinical hours under your belt. Just a thought! If you are set on going to school this year, reach out to the schools you really want to go to and talk to them about your situation. They'll definitely let you know!

Thanks for the input!!!🙂

Some schools allow for 3 prereqs in your last semester prior to matriculation. I am completing 2 psychs and a bio that are program specific.

Glad to hear that 🙂 ...what school are you going to?

Accepted at Touro NV, interviewing at NAU (over 800 apps)and ATSU-AZ (1000 aps). It's ATSU that requires the extra Preqs. As you can see I applied to long shot and safety schools. 9 total. only one official reject so far. My stats meet min. requirements. I think it has a lot to do w/ where you apply, being well rounded, your essays and LORs and if you can get past the initial selection process. Good Luck---never give up faith. I'm still in shock!!

Hey..how many prereqs did you have pending when you were accepted into your program? If you can let us know that would be great!!! 🙂

My first acceptance came on Halloween, with anatomy(&lab) and physiology(&lab) courses unfinished.
