This question is directed towards current neurosurgery residents:
What are your hours/typical day?
Has the work-hour limit/restriction affected your hours?
Do you think it has affected your training?
How many hours do you work a week?
How much of a social life do you have? (ie loved ones, etc.)
Do you know of any married neurosurgery residents and how are they doing?
Also, I've read online about certain residencies asking for more hours above the restriction, and neurosurgery is always the first one listed. Other polls state that nearly all neurosurgery programs go over the hourly-work-week restriction.
So, are you still putting in 120 hours a week and sleeping only four hours a day or is it significantly reduced, but still tough (ie now only 100 hours a week?)
