I'm a first year medical student and the school that I attend is transitioning its curriculum. My pre-clinical years are now ~1.5 years and I will immediately be going into 3rd year after. Step 1 dedicated time is right after 3rd year.

Looking ahead, what is the best way to prepare for Step 1 in this case? Initially, before this change, my thoughts were to start doing FA during M2 year but now I feel like I will be forgetting some details as Step 1 is delayed. Is it feasible to study for Step 1 intently while in the wards during 3rd year? What about now - what do people think of resources like Firecracker?

I appreciate any thoughts and advice.
