Just to start off, I'm undecided between MD and PharmD.

Is it illegal or against corporate policy for customers and pharmacists to engage in romance?

I am extremely handsome and fully expect female customers to pursue me aggressively. They will either hand me their phone numbers with a wink or constantly call the pharmacy asking for yours truly by name. I know this will happen based on several years of employment in another public setting, an American shopping mall. The benzodiazapine and antidepressant crowd will likely be the most annoying.

But what if the girl of my dreams comes in with a script for the day after pill and happens to ask me out? What is a young pharmacist with chiseled good looks allowed to do within the scope of the law during these over regulated, sue happy times?

I'm asking a serious question, honest, no trolling. Do CVS and other chain pharmacies frown upon dating customers? Or is it illegal in some states?

I know I will be hit on by girls every day and eventually stalked after work. It was a way of life at my old mall job. Security guards and janitors soon caught wind of my success and found excuses to hang out by my store, hoping to snag the girls I did my best to avoid.

Having my career ruined by a monthly klonapin refiller is my biggest worry. If you think my post is a joke then you never experienced the wrath of fatherless 18-22 year olds who can't take rejection. Girls rarely ask a man out, they usually reserve that for the most handsome male model types, ie myself. So if they do put themselves out on a limb only to be pushed away, a lot of crazy electrical short circuits go off in the brain. Your car gets keyed, tires slashed, rumors are spread that you are gay, harassing phone calls never stop, and her friends come in to annoy you in the most clever ways.

The last thing I want is girls I dated (or my stalkers) to come into the CVS/Eckerd/etc and make a scene. At the mall its funny, but in a serious establishment with years of education at stake, it would be extremely uncomfortable and may possibly cost me a high paying job I worked very hard for.

its even more sad that you are serious...if this is a major concern of yours im scared to think that you maybe a pharmacist one day.

go be a gigolos

it sounds like something you can professional at [sarcasm]

You may be asking a serious question, but I'm all  .

It would be unprofessional for you to let your "love" life interfere with the functioning of a healthcare setting. The scenarios you describe exceed those parameters. You're probably going to have to rein in that irresistible charisma that causes teenagers to stalk you.

Sick people generally don't shop for cell phones or shoes, so I doubt you'll find many people in a pharmacy who are interested in the ecstatic thrall of your mighty narcissism. Well, there might be a certain population that would be. But you'll worry about more than getting your car keyed with those folks.

If you look at his messages, you'll see that he posted this a week ago:

My lifelong dream is to be an MD, but due to a disability I may not be able to work 80 hour weeks. This is not an excuse. Every few months at random my condition becomes acute and I am bedridden for 2-3 weeks. So far it has not affected my studies because my university has a wonderful program to assist the disabled. Residency programs, from what I have read, have a zero tolerance policy for missing work, disability or not.

What are some career paths for an MD who has not completed residency? I would like form a contingency plan (except the PhD route).

Wow, he went from his "lifelong dream" of being an MD to wanting to be a pharmacist in a week!

the only "ladies" hitting on your are the drag queens that come in near closing time to hassle you for free percs... get a life bro.

Dude, this is a just a guy trying to give us some entertainment...he's not real. It was a funny thread though, I got lots of laughs.

But I dont think it's unprofessional to date a customer, if you guys hit it off and dont let anyone find out, it's all good.

But it was funny. Isn't it nice when people just sign up here to post and give us something to laugh about?

Id suggest some funky Austin Powers teeth as part of your daily wardrobe.

Wasp MD, you're my hero. I want to be just like you when I grow up. Do you think you could share with me some of your tips on how to be so cool, so studly, so charming, so......awesome, yet so humble at the same time? I'd really like to know because I would hate for my wife to meet you someday. I'm sure she would strip off her clothes right there and ask for dinner on the counter. So can you please give me some pointers on how to be you????

Please?

Pretty please?

Wait, let me try to guess....When a honey walks in, look at her with those killer eyes, lick your lips, walk over to her and say, "Nice dress, but it would look a lot nicer on the floor of my 400 square foot apartment. It's a studio, but I have the new Transformer satin bedsheets. What do you say?" I bet they just can't resist you....

My hero....

you are the funniest troll so far.

i dont think that it would be a problem as long as you were not giving them free drugs but to be safe,
just date them and tell them to change pharmacies, then no one will know. 😛

I would love if something like this happened to me in the pharmacy:😀

I'm wondering if the OP is the same guy from months ago asking for which pharmacy schools had the hottest women.

ahh so thats his secret,
the AXE eh
*goes put some on and waits for the 99999999 women to come rushing in

I'm hot, and I don't have too many problems. 😉
Just tell the ladies no!

Hint, hint: watch out for the antivirals! When you see Valtrex, walk the other way.

As long as you are not making excessive personal calls, coming in to work late or unprofessionally attired, and are not the cashier selling the prescriptions, then there is really nothing they can do.

As long as you keep the phone to a minimum and have someone else ring you up for her (or their) scripts, you're fine.

Pretty much everyone at my store has scripts filled for their significant other.
