Cutoffs (not like Tobias, but GPA/MCAT)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
3.0 overall, there is no MCAT cutoff per se but the average is a 26.5 I haven't met anyone with <7 in a section in the students I've met although not a cutoff an 8/8/8 is probably a realistic minimum if you have good ECs and GPA. For full disclosure I am a dual-admit in the BS/DO, we have two cutoffs in our program for guaranteed acceptance 3.1+ overall and a 24, 7 per section min.

I called OSU also and they said the same thing. I think I've called all the DO schools within the past week. Apparently Philadelphia COM/Georgia, Kansas City, and Rocky Vista have individual section MCAT cutoffs.

Phil/GA - No lower than an 8 in each section

Not sure how much truth there is to her response. I received an interview for November at PCOM Philly with a 24Q MCAT, 8BS, 9VR, 7PS...and I know people interviewed with 23 and 21's last year who were both accepted. Guess it really just depends on the entire application.

Since NYCOM only sends secondaries after reviewing primary app and LORs, does this mean we should send the letters along with the primary application?

I figured for most schools, you send LORs along with secondaries, but is that incorrect? Should I be sending my LORs in June too?

This is also what I was told (well, not the specific numbers, but the 2.7 GPA and 18 MCAT as minimums) when I spoke to someone in admissions last summer. Also, the secondary is by invitation only. There was an issue last year with someone who posted the link for everyone on SDN.

Wow, 18 is super low but I have seen MDapps with 18s and 21s accepted to schools so its all about the overall well rounded-ness of the applicant (at some schools).
