When people say you need a "CV" for your dental apps, are they referring to the personal statement? Or is there a part where we need to make a resume?


...this may be a dumb question, but hey, never hurts to ask.

Is it mandatory (or recommended) to attach your CV to the AADSAS app? Or is it something schools will ask for later?

You don't need a CV for AADSAS just the information you would find on a CV but more detailed. You never will need your resume in the application process (from my experiences). A CV is a resume by the way.

I had to look it up myself, so don't feel bad anyone that doesn't know what a CV is!

Coming from the business world, I have never heard the term. I don't know if that doesn't mean I wasn't important enough or what?

Well, at least I learned something new today (well, besides the origin, pathways and functions of the cranial nerves😴).

So, I'm still confused, guys. Let me see if I understand this correctly. We don't need a "formal CV" that we need to submit during the application cycle, we just need to have information that we WOULD have had on our CV handy so that we can enter that info into the appropriate fields in the AADSAS application?

So, for example, AADSAS has sections for extra-curriculars and shadowing. This is stuff that would normally be on a CV, but for AADSAS, we just need to enter this into their respective sections on the applications?

Do I have this right?

Of course that's very generically WHAT it is. The question was in the wording of the phrase "[cv is] Latin for academic resume".

From my understanding, you don't need one for your official app. However, you may need one when you ask your profs for LORs.

At the ripe old age of 24 and on a pre-professional forum, I can't say that I would need a CV at this point. Nor would putting one together for jobs I am applying for or dental school help me.
