i heard a store manager said that if a full time employee works less than 30 hrs in a certain week, will automatically be placed on part time payroll and not eligible for full time benefits? does that include pharmacist? floaters? or just front store employees and pharmacy techs only? its all automatic now so the store managers cannot make any changes..?

This is a case of "a little information can be a bad thing". What is actually happening is that the computer software will take an average of the hours worked/week of an employee for a given time range (currently listed as 1 year) and if they are over 30 hours, they will be automatically be given full time benefits, if the number is less than 30 they will be reduced to part time. This is mostly to comply with ACA requirements for providing health insurance for employees working more than 30 hrs/week because what was happening is that part time employees were being scheduled for more than 30 hours yet they were still classified as part time (store managers/PICS were supposed to take care of this themselves). Store managers still have the option of hiring people as either >30 hrs/wk or <30 hrs/wk so if they want to hire a full time employee who is accrue benefits right away, they can still do so.

How many hours do you have to work per week in order to get benefits? What is the company's requirement?

For non union employees 30 hours is full time and you get benefits. No longer do part time pharmacists at cvs receive benefits.
