CVS Floaters Shift

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
It depends on your scheduler. Some floaters tell me that their scheduler makes their schedule a year in advance and just adds last minute changes when they come up.

Other floaters tell me that their scheduler makes their schedule week to week lol.

It depends on your district I guess.

Typically just week to week. Maybe two or three weeks in advance if you are lucky. This is one major disadvantage to being a floater. Also your schedule may only be 30 hours/week base pay so if you want extra shifts to reach 40 hours/week then you are on constant stand by.

Our floaters are scheduled two months in advance. Right now they have calendars through 4/30.

It's going to depend on your supervisor and scheduler.

I have another question regarding floating for CVS. As some CVS stores are located in high crime areas, what are your options for turning down shifts, due to safety concerns? I am interested in possibly working as a part-time floater weekends/nights, but I am a little concerned that I would get assigned to work in unsafe areas, as the floating territory is usually quite large.

Just let the scheduler know in advance what stores you want to avoid.
