What is CVS floating holiday Hours??? Is this new? I only been working for CVS for a couple months... so I have no idea and how are they different from the vacation hours? I am so confused. Didn't have floating holiday hour from my previous company. Thanks.

There are now 6 core holidays, (ie. New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, & Christmas Day), and 2 "floating holidays" that the colleagues are to choose from. These are chosen from the following list: Epiphany Day, MLK Day, President's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Victory Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Christmas Eve. You would essentially go into HR after the 1st and choose which two holidays you want to count towards your holiday pay if you are exempt. If you are non-exempt, you would let your supervisor know which days you choose to take holiday pay.

Gotcha. If you dont choose any specific holiday do you get time and a half paid out at the end of the year?

I'm almost certain you have to choose because I was told unused holidays will not rollover and/or get paid out.
Is presidents day or veterans day still OT?
President's Day and Veteran's Day are not OT now unless you choose them as your "floating holiday."
Basically, we went from 8 core holidays to 6+whichever 2 you want to choose based off religious or personal preference.

That's cool. I always have to switch with my religious coworkers because of easter and finding coverage for Moms or Dads day is usually a pain.

So if I put floating holiday on WB on the 18th next month for presidents day i’ll get OT as well if I work that day? If I don’t use floating holiday in WB I just get paid for what i work no OT that day?

Essentially it will work like any of the core holiday's as far as OT and whether you worked or not, as long as you mark it in WB from my understanding.

You do not get time and a half for anything at cvs.

Hourly employees (techs, clerks etc) do when they work on a holiday, if full time they also get 8 hours HOL pay.

How do I pick the 2 floating holidays on HR? Can’t seem to find the place on it

This was not how it was explained to us at all. We were told these hours were not required to be assigned to specific days and could be used hour by hour any week of the year as additional PTO.

I know it can be used hour by hour, but the information I received originally was not clear on this. They basically told us to choose and had a list to choose from right after but I do agree it looks like we can choose any day, supervisor permitting.

To clarify, it appears eligible colleagues do not get paid OHL on non-core holidays, only core holidays if they worked.

I'm not quite sure, honestly. I haven't tried to do it myself. My scheduler's usually very good about taking care of things behind the scenes.
