Hey all! I heard CVS night schedule is 7 days on 7 days off. But I heard the schedule is different in California. Could someone please explain this??
CA labor law requires you to pay overtime if someone works beyond 6 days in a row. There was a lawsuit.
Nopeunless it's in 2 different work weeks right?
Nope
Technically 12 days straight, as I have done. Last 6 of one work week and first 6 of the next before overtime due to 7th day. Might still get overtime due to weekly hours though if applies. One and one-half times the employee's regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of eight hours up to and including 12 hours in any workday, and for the first eight hours worked on the seventh consecutive day of work in a workweek
so no you can technically work 10 days straight and not be paid overtime
Then why did CVS change anything? They could just make overnight weeks start on Wednesdays. One and one-half times the employee's regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of eight hours up to and including 12 hours in any workday, and for the first eight hours worked on the seventh consecutive day of work in a workweek

it would be more simple if they do 4 on, 3 off. then second week 3 on, 4 off.. but cvs is not known to have leaders with brain. they need lawsuits for any changes.
