CVS night shift schedule in California??

Hey all! I heard CVS night schedule is 7 days on 7 days off. But I heard the schedule is different in California. Could someone please explain this??

Not from CA, but I'm an overnight RPh...has to do with the labor laws in CA. Any CA RPhs want to chime in the details?

I'm not overnight, but it's 5 days on 4 days off then 4 days on and 5 days off... alternates like that, which sucks balls, no consistency.... all because some pharmacist sued CVS or something, I hope that pharmacist at least got rich for ruining it for everyone else

CA labor law requires you to pay overtime if someone works beyond 6 days in a row. There was a lawsuit.

so no you can technically work 10 days straight and not be paid overtime

Technically 12 days straight, as I have done. Last 6 of one work week and first 6 of the next before overtime due to 7th day. Might still get overtime due to weekly hours though if applies.

Then why did CVS change anything? They could just make overnight weeks start on Wednesdays.

not sure, there must be a reason... they can't just change it for the over nighters, they'd have to change it for everyone... maybe that wouldn't work out

it would be more simple if they do 4 on, 3 off. then second week 3 on, 4 off.. but cvs is not known to have leaders with brain. they need lawsuits for any changes.

you'd have to work every sunday with this schedule... people need a whole weekend off sometimes lol
