I am a first year medical student. could anybody tell me of a better physiology book other that Guyton, for cardiovascular physiology. It'd be better if someone posts an online link to related stuff.

For overall physio I like Costanzo, the big "Physiology" text. Her BRS physiology book is great too for touch ups.

If you want a dedicated book just for the cardio in CVS, I can't recommend the book "Pathophysiology of Heart Disease" by Lilly enough. Some of it is more advanced than first year physio (Also GREAT for second year and beyond, so you'll have use for it) but I think the easiest way to understand how things work is see how they don't and this book does a fantastic job. This book really makes all those Frank-Starling curves make sense.

Agreed on Costanzo. If you're looking for something brief and focused, the Lange series CV phys book is pretty good as well, and pretty concise (~200 pages).

I second the book by Lilly. Really excellent for cardio.

I loved Costanzo. I also recommend Cardiovascular Physiology Concepts by Klaubunde.

Levy and Pappano "cardiovascular physiology". pretty short. i'm assuming CVS= cardiovascular system and not anything else.
