Cvs vacation time

I have been working for CVS since April 2013. For Vacation hours , my pay stub says for full year I will have 35 hours. . For those of you who work for CVS, does that mean after one year I will get 35 hours of vacation or it is for the current year 2013?. I cant find the benefit package that was sent to me,

Yeah my check randomly started giving me vacation this week too, even though I thought it was a 6 month waiting thing. I called HR and they said that what is listed on the check is correct and available to use this year.

35 hours for 2013. If you have it, use it. If not, it gets paid out next year.

The one thing I learned with CVS, to our benefit, is that RPH scheduling is very backward. 20th century backward. Things are still being done with paper and pen.

My advice: TAKE YOUR VACATION TIME THIS YEAR. USE IT UP!!!!!!!

The reason being.. if you wait till the end of the year and don't use it, yes, you will be paid out an extra 35 hours on one of your checks for February, BUT, all those 35 hours are going to be taxed as a BONUS. So, you are losing like half your money from all your vacation time.

That was a mistake I learned the hard way. I had >100 hours of vacation. Decided not to take it, and get it paid out. What I saw on my checked really disappointed me.

Take your vacation time. Take every last minute of it. Even if you are a workaholic, take your vacation time, and go find another place to work. Just take your vacation. It's much better to get paid to stay at home and relax than to work like a slave for CVS all year round and see a shi*** bonus pay for your hard worked vacation time.

CVS doesn't allow days to be carried over? That would suck. Most places allow something like 3 years of vacation times to be banked so you can take a big vacation if you wanna.

A lot of these metrics are not random. You deal with them by following the action plans that your PIC, or DM gave you. A lot of us also learn on how to mess around with the numbers so they leave you alone.

For example for action notes follow up,... if you are at 40 percent... be sure that you are using Choose not to call for some of them. You are allowed 10-15 percent for that which then increases your overall successful reach rate percentage. Also, if you can not reach a customer, leave them a message. I believe the system tracks that you make the phone call and stay on the phone for >30 seconds.

Gotta learn to fudge them. CVS has way too many metrics they expect their pharmacists to complete.

My store does over 4000 scripts a week.

I call my customers when ever I have to. I also write up any of my techs who do not do it. There is no excuse for "time bombs" and wasting my customer's time.

This isn't about the perfect metric. When I see my action note follow up through, and see "choose not to call" at 0 percent for every employee, I have to ask myself if they know what options to pick. Are they wasting time calling people at 9 am on readyfill prescriptions out of stocks? Because if they are at my 4000 script store.. they can better spend that time somewhere else.

At 9am (when action note calls pop up, I am filling 25-40 rx between me and two techs. If one tech is calling customers, then it is just me and one tech doing everything.

I also save half an hour on my SOS visit so my boss don't have to lecture me.

Varies by district. Mine requires approval by pharmacy supervisor for anything over 7 consecutive days.

Absolutely not. I don't know who started This rumor but its not true. One of the guys who developed wecare himself said you get credit for the call AS LONG AS 1 SECOND elapses on the phone. You do not need to be on the phone for 30 seconds.

Also, you have a 1 hour window to the patient from the time you do the action note. That means 30 minutes before, and 30 minutes after. So if I call a patient and speak to them and hang up, and then 20 minutes later an action note pops up, and I put spoke on phone, I get credit.
