School 1: Case western
* private
Pros:
  • Super new facility
  • More city/ heard you can get more trauma cases
  • Better name recognition
  • Cheaper cost of living
  • More breaks (spring break, summer break etc)
Cons:
  • Expensive school COA 520k
  • High crime rate
  • Student didn’t seem too excited attending CWRU when I went for an interview
  • Lots of negative feedback (not sure but?)
School 2: LECOM
* private
Pros:
  • Def cheaper COA 400k
  • Early clinical exposure
  • Pretty nice student feedback
  • Safer area
Cons:
  • Very minimal breaks throughout the year
  • Less name recognition
  • Small school building wise
  • No inhouse specialties
Summary:
Mainly wondering how important it is for COA and school’s name recognition. Not sure if I wanna specialize but least wanna leave the door open

No one knows about Case Western outside of the Midwest. Breaks don’t mean much. It’s just dental school - no one is thrilled about school.
