Hi. I'm a medical genetics student, and I want to do a fellowship in cyto or molecular genetics after my PhD.
but thing is I don't know much about the job markets in this area.
I know that the fellowship is for lab directorship but is there good job opportunities out there for such a degree?
and how is the annual salary range right now?

any guidance would be appreciated! thanks.

This is for sure the wrong forum to ask this question. Maybe the pathology forum?

Very late reply but yes, these fellowships are typically housed under pathology. Cyto and molecular programs have since merged into one laboratory genetics and genomics fellowship. These fellowship spots are hard to get but coming out the job market is good (both in academic settings as well as industry). You can see the ACMG survey for salary info, but definitely low 6 figures is a reasonable starting academic salary out of fellowship. Feel free to PM me.
