The D.5 program is offered to applicants who have interviewed at VCU. The admission committee selects applicants, based on that applicant's individual situation, that they believe will benefit from the 5 year program over the 4 year one. The program is small, with only around 10 spots I believe.
So do you have to be interviewed first before being put to the D.5 program?
The director of admissions and the admissions committee select a very limited number of D.5 candidates from the pool of interviewed applicants.

does anyone know if the D5 program is mainly for in-state students or out-of-state students?

EDIT: but of course they might accept more from VA.I think it's for both, when I spoke with admin reps.
