First of all, I want to thank everyone on here. This is my first post, but I've read plenty of threads and gained plenty of insight form you guys.

Anyways my scores from today are as follows:

PAT 19 (73.7 percentile)
Q/R 17 (65.7 percentile)
R/C 22 (90.3 percentile)
Bio 20 (86.9 percentile)
GC 19 (73 percentile)
OC 20 (81.3 percentile)
TS 20 (86.2 percentile)
AA 20 (87.1 percentile)

I am in my final year at the University of Washington (my degree will be in general biology). My Cum. GPA is a 3.4 (3.2 sci, 3.72 non sci)

What do you guys think about my chances at schools, particularly UW? I have also applied to 14 others (maybe that was too many) all over the US from California to New York.

Thanks again for all of your input and help guys/girls!

Nice scores. You are an all around "average" applicant. Well, slightly abaove average. You will surely end up somewhere.

Thanks, I think I have a slight advantage (maybe) with my race (being Pakistani) and some of the stuff I was able to put on my application. I dont really mind where I go (anywhere!), I just like UW b/c its where I live, and it would be cheaper..

congrats.

could you please list down the material you used and how you studied for this exam. thanks.

I'm don't know much about UW, other than I wanted to apply there, but didn't when I saw their in-state acceptance to out of state (better for you)... but you will definately get in somewhere in my opinion.

Yes I am applying this cycle, I submitted my application with everything other than DAT scores in mid August...

As far as studying goes, I took the online Kaplan course (it was $1400). I've read plenty of mixed reviews by students on here, however I thought it was pretty good. The book they actually give you seems identical to the one you can buy in stores (its $80 or something), but they have plenty of online 'workshops' not to mention a diagnostic, three full length tests, a midterm, and a final. I went through the kaplan white book twice, and I went through the lesson book (which was just online lectures) twice as well. I didnt really start going over the flashcards until about a week til my test.

I agree with the general opinion that their PAT portion is kind of weak. I felt that their keyholes were nearly impossible, yet everytime on angles I was getting 15/15. It also seems that their 'biology' section gets bashed plenty, but I didnt do that bad on my bio portion of the DAT. With that said, I have also always liked biology so that may have played a role.

I did buy Crack the DAT PAT, and it was just like the real test. Unfortunately I didnt take the PAT that importantly and actually only used it once or twice, and then ended up taking 3 full tests the day before my test. Had I actually gone through all 10 tests and the answers I feel I would have done superb on the real DAT. I would highly recommend it. If you dont want to spend 250 on it, then buy only the 5 test version.

I also heard plenty of good things about AP bio notes, and tried buying the book on amazon, but the seller never sent it 🙁

So my study materials were pretty much Kaplan, and a little bit of CDP. I studied for about 5 weeks at 3-5 hours a day.

3.7 / 20

u got a good chance at larger schools. no chance at most competitive schools, unless u got outstanding extras. ur dat and sci gpa is holding u back there. i think if u cast a wide net ull get in somewhere tho.

Props for being pakistani just like me haha i hope that does help us somewhat but solid scores 20/20 is a good score like others i think you will have good luck as long as you select a lot of schools ....by any chance did you use destroyer at all?

No, I did not use destroyer, but it seems to have plenty of positive feedback surrounding it..
