hey everyone! I just joined today and I have an urgent question!
I'm a pharmacy student hopeful and I'm going to be getting a D in general chemistry this quarter 🙁. This quarter was especially hard for me because someone very close to me passed away, so I was mentally unstable for the much of the quarter. I'm really bummed out because never in my life have I gotten such a terrible grade!

Are my hopes of going to pharmacy school shattered?

any advice would be greatly appreciated

One grade, especially given the extraordinary circumstances, will not prevent you from being accepted. Retake the class, do well and explain your grade/retake in your supplemental applications. Most schools usually have a question on their supp asking you to explain any academic difficulties that you have experienced. Hope his helps and I'm sorry about your loss.

You will be fine. Since it is a pre-requisite you have to retake the class and make sure to do well. Like the above posted said, you will have your chance to explain any discrepancies on your application. Best of luck to you.

Yup. I agree with doc. I got a D in ochem, retook it and aced it. Just do well and especially with extenuating circumstances I'm sure the adcom will understand. Good luck!
