D+ in physics acceptable?

For DO schools your GPA/MCAT are solid. It might be on a school-by-school basis for that D on your transcript. You should call each school and see what they say.
If I were you, I would enroll in that physics class in the spring semester and retake. Then you can tell all the schools that you are planning on taking it in the Spring semester. I would say this is the best course of action for your situation.

Absolutely not, you must retake.

Great advice. Like both of these guys said, you have to retake the course. If you crush your retake (A or even a B) you will be in a great spot for DO.
You will need to score better than a C- in all prerequisites to avoid being screened out from a school that you would otherwise be very competitive for.
Strongly suggest calling your top 3 schools and asking. If there's a consensus, you'll know what to do then.
Should I even bother applying with a D+ in physics??
Stats are 3.4 GPA and 32 MCAT.
I have read that some schools require at least a C to apply. Is this the rule for all DO schools? Thanks.

Every DO school I contacted said C or better and they were strict about it.
retake retake
Like most have already said, you MUST retake the course. Most schools have physics as a required pre-req. Anything under a C (C- and lower) is considered a fail, which means that you have not satisfied the physics pre-req. Retake the course, get an A, and enjoy the power of grade replacement.
Is it physics I or II? Either way, retake.
