Hello. I had a quick question about my AACOMAS application, MCAT score and GPA and I thought I'd ask the experts for some help😉 I submitted my AACOMAS application in early, early June and my MCAT score, which kind of stinks...I made a 20. My overall GPA is a 3.72 and my science is about a 3.5. I have a crap load of volunteer work and I am currently doing HIV/AIDS research. I am debating on whether or not to retake the MCAT. Is it possible to get into any D.O. schools with such a low MCAT score? I have applied to 9 of the D.O. schools. Should I apply to more? Thank you for your help and patience in this matter. Any advice you have to offer would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.-I am sorry if this question is in the wrong forum, but I wasn't too sure as to where to place it. Thank you again!!!

Ouch,
Well the good news is that everything else (as mentioned) sounds great and an mcat score can be improved. I can't say that you won't get in with a 20, but I would be supprised. You'll know soon enough, as many schools won't send you a sup if you don't meet their minimums, unfortunately some who are after your money, will send you a sup and not give you an interview.
It's a numbers game, so look at it this way. If a school's average is 24, then for every 26 they admit, they can afford to admit a 22. Likewise for every 20, they need to find a 28, which is highly likely, but you'll need a strong interview.
I'd recomend that you stress your otherwise great test taking ability and beg for mercy. Everyone has bad days, you had a bad saturday, which is better than a bad year (gpa wise) so it's just a matter of getting your foot in the door.
Should you not get in, do retake the mcat with a refresher course as they have several actual practice test saturdays.
