Hey guys,


My overall gpa is a 3.52 and my science gpa is a 3.43, do you think that i'll be competitive for d.o. schools? If so, will i be competitive for the better d.o. schools or the lower end schools? If not, where does my gpa need to be? Thanks a lot!

I think that you will be competitive at any DO school with those numbers. I had a 3.30/3.0 sci and I got in.

it's good to hear that our gpa will hoefully be competitive. what kind of mcats do you think we'll need to be safe for all do schools?

Its a good gpa provided you the MCRAP doesnt rock your world.

Well, I have a 30...I think 27+ you'd be golden...Someone else can help me out here as that may be a little high.

Yep, that gpa is just fine. No worries there. Of course try to do at least a 25 MCAT, but I've heard of people getting in with 22s- or less. Stack the deck in your favor, it will mean more choices for where you'll go to med school. Oh, and don't underestimate the interview. Some schools accept only 5-10% of those interviewed. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

Most, but not all DO schools.....some are more competitive than others.


It of course also depends on your MCAT....

The OP has very good chances as long as the MCAT is adequate.
