Hi all,

If I need to obtain a letter from a D.O, do I have to volunteer with him/her for three months or more?
I am late in my application process and would rather observe for a day and demonstrate my sound knowledge of the field and get a LOR at the end of the day.
Dont get me wrong, If I knew about the significance of the LOR earlier I would have been interested in volunteering at a D.O's office while in school.

Would they write me a LOR on the same day or would they decline by saying I should observe for a couple more weeks?

Just work something out with a DO. Whatever arrangement you can set up that will make them comfortable writing you an LOR is fine. I'd be sure to have another physician LOR from someone who knows you better, though.
