I need to clear up a few things, thank you in advance...
I am a MS-IV hoping to match into a D.O. rads program, but the obvious worst case scenario is I do not match, so I need to have a back up plan...
Would it be wise to also apply for a TY or a preliminary year at a MD institution on the west coast which is close to home? I obviously still need to seek AOA approval. Is there a list of hospitals out there that have obtained prior AOA approval? I am thinking that it would be best to do a D.O. osteopathic traditional internship at a hospital with a D.O. rads program and reapply the following year and maybe by shear luck, a spot opens up at the instiution during my internship (highly unlikely) or I reapply during the start of my internship.
Another question I had... do I get kicked out of the MD match for rads if I match into a D.O. traditional spot? There is not an optimal way to go about this, I have heard that taking a year off to do research is a possibility but I already have three years of research under my belt.
thank you for the advice
