I recently decided to become a D.O. I have been doing Pre-med at Western Washington, but instead become a M.D. I want to become a D.O. Can anyone tell me any difference between the schooling or if there is a college in Oregon? Thank you

What made you change your mind? It sounds like you don't know anything about it. There are no schools in OR, the closest one would be TUCOM in Mare Island, CA. There are now 22 schools I think. Check out this link

You can look into Western/COMP as well. They now have a Northwest track which has students complete rotations in Oregon and Washington (I don't know a whole lot about it). This maybe of interest to you, and welcome to DO world.

what up brittanyndd - schooling between MD and DO is essentially the same however DO's receive additional training in manipulative treatment. no schools in OR as of yet, however there are plenty of DO's where i am from. i've acutally got a buddy that goes to WWU and i introduced him to osteopathy when he was in town. if you wanna get in touch with some DO's for direct experience them PM me. good luck.

We have 1 md school in oregon and they take more out of staters than in staters.
