From what I can tell of our schedule we have about 2 months off after year 1. I heard some people do externships, research, etc. What are you all doing this summer?

After freshman year, we get 2 weeks "vacation" to study for boards and then 3 weeks of real vacation after boards. Not much here in AZ.

Yah we get two weeks to study for boards and then two weeks in august. Thanks a lot there UIC.

At Temple we get 2 months off.....as you can tell by my sig, Im backpacking through Asia!!!!!!!

So for the most part, they (meaning future residency/specialist adcoms) don't expect you to really do anything special, dental-wise during that foirst summer (although I am sure it would look nice if you did)?

I was thinking of doing something dental related for my summer.....but seeing that I wont have anymore opportunities in the future to do anymore big backpacking trips, I decided to use this summer for myself.

I plan on using future smaller breaks (such as spring and winter breaks) for externships, research, etc.

More than likely, I will apply for a summer internship. If a similar opportunity doesn't present itself, I will probably volunteer at a school or take a family vacation. From previous schedules, there isn't any substantial time given off after the D1 summer. Take care and GOD bless.

Hey, I've seen some of Grant's posts here and there and have a few questions.
1. Whats with the all caps for the man upstairs? One capital letter isn't good enough any more? The good book still has it as only one capital letter right? It hasn't been that long since I cracked it at mass...
2. Anyone else find it weird that his signature is from a guy that has alledgedly druged and fondled women against thier will? I mean he settled out of court and everything, but 9 people testified against him...and I mean come on there are a lot of better quotes about education out there...Bill Cosby ain't one to be talking about dishonor anymore.

Just curious....and bored...

I know Coz isn't perfect, and he doesn't have to be in order to have something of value to offer. I respect him for taking a hard stance on a tuff issue like education and family in the AA community. A lot of AA stars won't touch these things.

Secretary of Education, Rod Paige, said it best when he revealed, "An invisible problem (AA education woes) is never addressed."

You are not the first person to have issue with Coz. Some other critics have said similar things that you have, while supporters say that he has earned the right to say what he does about education since he and his wife, Camille, donated $20 million to Spellman a few years back.

But it is not all about the money with me, b/c if it was I would promote shooting hoops over shooting for the stars.

If Coz gets a few more AA's to realize what is at stake when it comes to education, then I commend him for that, but I don't ride shotgun with this guy on everything.

Considering the amount of feathers that he has ruffled with his panels, I am surprised that it wasn't 90 people who testified. I have heard people say some things about him that you wouldn't believe.

Also, Coz had enemies already for stances he had previously taken against AA t.v. stars whom he said made AA's look bafoonish (Martin Lawrence). Incidentally, I didn't agree with Coz on this. Anyway, if settling out of court meant guilt or jail time, they would have to put a prison on Rodeo Drive.

In reality, it is almost impossible to agree completely with anyone, me included. I can't recall any political candidate or anyone else in the world that I have voted for whom I agreed with a %100. Coz has cheated on his wife and fathered a child out of wedlock. All he needs is some sort of addiction and an arch nemesis, and he'd be all set for office.

As far as your other question, it makes little difference to me how I write His name. As long as I have a relationship with GOD, then I am good to go.

Take care and GOD bless.
