1) I remember that out of all the muscles of mastication, only one actually lowers (opens) the jaw. All the others elevate (close) the jaw. I believe the one that drops the jaw is the lateral pterygoid. I'm totally guessing here. Just so you know.

2) The easy way to tackle these questions is drawing the 4 W's technique. I think it passes between the DL & ML of 19. The central lingual groove?
 
ya the 2 ans is rite ... but can u plzzz explain m how 2 solve such questions ?? wat is this technique

is this question is complete.if this question is related to local anaesthesia , then answer should be medial pterygoid muscle cause if the needle will prick to the medial pterygoid muscles and will deposit LA over there then it will lead to transient trismus...

in normal occluding position ML cusp of 14 wll pass through the central groove of the 19..but in lateral excursion ML cusp will pass through the lingual groove of 19....

correct me if i am wrong...

n if the movt was right lateral , ML cusp of 14 would pass thru??? [how 2 solve these q's]
