You're fine. When I transferred from a community college to a real university, I got a 2.9 my first semester. I've now had a first and second round interview invite in my state and have a third in-state interview soon. No questions about that terrible semester yet. (My stats are 23 AA/22TS/3.75GPA). Dental schools love to see an upward trend (they may/will ask you how you adapted to the course load) and things of that nature though. Prepare a good answer. You're fine though if you work hard in the following years and bring your GPA up.
