I got this email from Lisa Burton of Darmouth with a file attachment named 'Show Letter'. It's a .rtf file.....whatever that is. Did anyone get this file in email and what program do you use to open it?

BTW, why does Dartmouth keep sending me all this crap. Just send me the damm interview invite.

THanks

.rtf is rich text format, so you should be able to open it with pretty much any word processor (eg MS Word).

thanks kwanny

Hey I'm not getting anything from Dartmouth. Got nothing since I got the secondary and was complete 8/10. 😕

Does this mean anything? I mean, why do some people get alot of stuff and other people (well, me) get nothing. Anyone know what the deal is?

well they take superstars first........

high gpa high mcat......

then they start calling us average joes a few months later.
hopefully i hear from them around december.

so sit tight.

I just got an email from Anne Hill at Dartmouth with the subject "DMS Letters of Rec. Received" and the an an rtf attachment.

Has it been determined if this is a virus or if it has something in it I should know?

I got the same thing a few weeks ago. I'm using Yahoo. Apparently, the message she typed turned into an attachment. I forwarded the email to my account at work and the actual message about "Rec's received" showed up this time, no .rtf attachment. Maybe it's just something with the email servers. I don't think your attachment should be a virus. As long as it doesn't have that stupid "Mail Failure Delivery" in the subject line, sent from some obscure account or .edu address that you KNOW you have never associated with, the email should be fine to open.

<<damn MSSM!! I'm still getting SPAM!!!!!!!>>

I managed to get the filed opened by using word and installing a rich text thingy. It basically told me that they have my secondary... I thought it was going to be a rejection so I was kinda happy.

Rejection via email. That would be rough.
