My application was submitted last week. However, I am debating between taking the DAT the first week of August vs. the second week of August. I have already checked dates in my area and know there is availability for both. I would like the extra week to study if possible, but not if that extra week will end up pushing me into the second round of interview invites, and if I'll be in the second round either way, then I would prefer to keep studying the rest of August as I don't have anything else to do until school starts in September. I have already been studying for two months, so I feel pretty close to being ready to take it. I have a 3.3 GPA and 3.2 science GPA and 500 hours of assisting.

I did decent on the ada practice DAT (averaged around 19), so its not like I would bomb it if I took it the first week of August. However, if the timing is not going to make much of a difference, then I might as well spend an extra week or two studying since I don't have much else to do.

Just keep in mind that it takes AADSAS 2 weeks to process your DAT after you take it. Have everything else submitted beforehand except for the DAT

Took almost 3 weeks last year for AADSAS to receive my DAT scores. Email schools and ask if once you take the DAT if you can email or fax the schools your scores many will accept unofficial score reports.

I was in a similar situation as you, I ended up pushing it back to the second week, i originally had it scheduled for the first week. The main reason I switched was cause if i weren't to do as well as i wanted to in the first week, I would have regretted not pushing it back. I'd feel reassured with my score knowing that I did as much as I could to do my best on the DAT
