First of all, i'd like to say that this forum is great. I learned a lot!!! So keep the great comments coming because they might really help someone else.

So, about the DAT. This was my 4th time taking it...yes 4th!!! I took the 3rd one in Oct, and got the same exact score PAT 16, AA: 17. I was extremely depress but I gave myself one last chance before i give dentistry up completely. I quit my job and studied for 1.5 months solid, especially the 2 weeks leading up to the test (12-15 hrs).
PAT 19
RC 20
QR 16 (bleh)
Bio 21
GC 20
OC 22
TS 21
AA 20
Overall/Science GPA 3.67
...only used Kaplan Blue Book and text books the first few times, and those weren't enough for me. So this time, i took the advices from this forum and ordered Destroyer for science and Crack the PAT..those are awesome! Math has always been my weak point, plus i didn't study for it, since it doesn't matter much (that's what i've heard..hopefully it's true...if not, i'm screw!!! LOL)
I know my scores are not exceptional, but it was a big achievement for me. I just wanted to post my scores and encourage anyone who's thinking: "maybe i should try 1 more time"..you know what, you should!! Just make sure you give up life for about 1-2 months 🙂 Comments/Questions are welcome!!!

Nice, consistent score. Good job!

good job, congratulation! I realy admire you
just remeber in your application don't mention " last try" don't give them negative thought about you! try to change your 4th DAT to a posetive point. for example show them how you are serious for being a Dentist and how you learned your lesson from failour from the past .... something like that, again good job! you must be proud of yourself.
Good luck for rest of your application, 👍

👍So many people are doing well I don't know what to say anymore other than congratulations! Oh, and go write a great personal statement!

did you read this thread carefully? it is 4th DAT! even with 4th DAT your DAT is higher than that! I think it is very natural geting this scores after couple times taking DAT.

I just want tell you that, good job. It is harder to increase the score after first time. It just showed your perseviarance and dedication to dentistry. I hope dental school see that. Best of luck.🙂

I know but he still did well, did he not? Are you saying he doesn't deserve the Chuck Norris image?

Actually, the ADA statistics show that the majority of test takers go down when they retake.

And you know what? There is no theory of evolution, only a series of animals Chuck Norris has let live. 👍

I know that, and I know even the reason for that. Do you know why?
because.
first of all they realy don't spend time to realize whats going wrong whit thier privious studying, they continue thier wrong pattern over and over.
second: they don't have realy passion about dentestry.( I know prsonaly one person trying to go Dental school 5 years and never study proparly and funny part; she thinks she knows how to study).
third: evoulation theory for humnbeing is a little bit different with Darvin classical theory, human have extra power than other spicies; human can think and learn and make choise not to make same wrong pattern over and over. 👍

We all see can see the improvement. Some people just can't do standarized test. I believe this person tried very hard and finally got what they wanted. That big improvement also showed his/her passion for dentistry.
👍

congradulation! I am planing to retake my DAT for the fourth time as well. I took my third time in 2005. I also ordered destroyer and crack PAT. I am happy to find out those are helpful. How did you study for RC? That's my weakest point.

LOL. I can count to infinity, forwards and backwards.

Thanks for making me crave cookie dough now, gosh.

thanks...i didn't study for RC...i just read the 1st and last sentences of each paragraph, wrote down keywords and then search for the answer...thanks goodness the passages they gave me weren't on some nonesense subjects. I had one on spinal cord. Good luck on your test! When are you planning to take it?
