Hi guys
Im a fourth year undergrad. I have been thinking taking the DAT this summer 2007, i have no idea how to study for DAT. Do i have to actually buy my General and Ochem books?. I took General Chem way long time ago. Or i just need to study the Kaplan books like everybody does? I plan to take DAT at the beginning of December 2007. Does 8 hours a day for 3 months is enough?
Thanks in advance!

Hey i would reccomend you to get a few thigns in your process of studying for the DAT. One DAt Destroyer without a doubt for the sciences it got me my 22. Now for the reading math and perceptual i would use Achiever and Topscore it gives you a broad sense of how the DAT will be. Godo LUck ineverythign feel free to message me if you have any questions. I used all of thsoe and just got an offer for Stony Brook. So definitely know those materials and you shoudl be set. Good Luck!

Hey, Don't waste your money on Destroyer. It's too expensive and not worth the money.
I have a bunch of Kaplan subject tests that I can give you for free if you'd like. Just pm me with your email address.

Good luck!

3 months of good studying should be enough to prepare you for the DAT. You should take the DAT and apply to dental school during the summer though - don't wait until december of next year if you are hoping to get in for the 2008 cycle. No need to rebuy your general and organic chem books. You should definitly get a copy of Kaplans DAT blue book to start and I would also purchase Top Score Pro for some more accurate practice DAT tests. If you feel you need extra work for your basic sciences you may want to purchase Schaum's Outline of Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. These books cover your basic sciences in more detail than Kaplan and are very inexpensive.

If you learn best from a classroom environment you can always take the Kaplan DAT course. It is helpful, but very expensive.
