Hi all, i'm finally done with my DAT yesterday. A special thanks to tinman831 and toothgirl86 for their encouragements!!! I finally got through all this...Here are my scores and stat...thanks...

BIO 24
GC 29
OC 27
QR 22
RC 18 ----I was hoping for this
PAT 20

I have a 3.6 GPA as of now. I'm going to apply to 10 schools... what do you guys think?

BIO-- I think it was very doable, I studied the most for it. 25% of the questions were applications and I got the FRAP lab question as well.. I studied this section using Cliff's AP BIO, and campbell book (which I think was too much detail and I turned out going crazy with it)

GC-- didn't study for it much.. took the class back in 2001 but still remember a handful of it. Kaplan just to go over...

OC-- same thing, CHEM is my best friend.

QR-- I'm ok with math... I studied very little for this section.

RC-- read books, read newspaper, articles 2 hours a day.

PAT-- I just use kaplan PAT...the real thing is harder...but I scored around 25-27 on kaplan PAT... so it's fair to me..

Thanks you all....... have any question, feel free to ask...

congratulations, very solid scores. you should be able to get a lot of interviews. how did u manage to do so well in general chemistry?

my god. you weren't kidding when you say chem is your friend lol. i say more like lovers than friends haha. how long did you prepare and did you use anything besides Kaplan and Cliff's?

btw. congrats on the phenomenal scores =)

Wow....
What did you get on Kaplan's tests?
How would you compare Kaplan's chem (both chems) to the real DAT?

Congratulations excellent scores how long did it take you to study????

thanks guys...

Mamona,

I studied for about 4 weeks with a full time job. I mostly study at night... The thing is I remember GC and OC from College, so I didn't really study this 2 sections beside just going over the Kaplan book.

BIO-- I forgot it all so i spent like 3/4 weeks study BIO using Cliffs...

nope, i used nothign else beside Campbell Text for reference, Kaplan materials, and Cliff's.

STACM,

I am sure I missed that lab question... so really don't know what to say.. I looked at it and went oh oh....clicked on one choice and moved on...🙂

doc3232,

I only did the Kaplan that came along with the blue book... 2008 edition.. got pretty ok scores....all in the 20's and RC like 19, 18..

Kaplan Chem sections are harder than the real DAT...

userah,

hehehe... lovers? no... i didn't use anythign else...just those....

yomikepump,

i did well in college chem.. always got like 100 percent on tests one or two being in the 90's... so that probably the reason?

nhasifuture,

thanks...u're viets? same here.

i don't believe it's discussed anywhere but a lot of people who have taken the DAT recently have said that they have had questions about FRAP so i say better safe than sorry. website does a pretty good job of explaining it i think.

By the way, I forgot to ask about this question. I came to the US when I was 17... Finished HS and I don't know what was the reason but I decided to go to UCLA for undergrate... It was tough because of the language so I ended up having a complete W's.... ahhhhh, i know... I studied double, triple hard the last 3 semesters I was there and managed to get A's and B's... moved to Florida(family problems) finished undergraduate in Florida with a 3.9 at FU..combined I got a 3.6... will it be a problem for me because of my W's at UCLA first semester? thanks... i'm now in Texas trying to gain residency btw...thanks you all for your help!

amazing scores...if i could get those scores, i would be the happiest man alive. congrats, you wont have a problem getting into schools.

i really think that with those scores, those W's won't be too much of an issue. They might ask you during your interviews about them but I still don't think they will negatively impact your chances of getting in too much. Your dat score I think more than makes up for it. good luck =)
