I need some opinions about whether or not to retake!! My scores would have been deemed above average last year, but the scores this year seem to have been ridiculously good based on the percentiles!! Check it out:

PAT: 19 67.8%
QTR: 17 75.6%
RC: 24 94.0% 🙂
Biology: 20 88.0%
Gen Chem: 18 62.2%
Organic: 17 49.5% 🙁
TS: 18 63.0%
AA: 19 77.6%

I have a 4.0GPA with classes such as animal behavior, animal form and function, organic I and organic II, quantitative analysis (chem 440), immunology, animal physiology, and biophysics I.

Does anyone think my GPA will allow me to be okay with my score, or should I retake??

Retake is going to depend on how many schools u wanna apply to.
If your aiming big (12+), I don't think retake is necessary.
If your aiming low (5-ish), I'd retake

But honestly, that GPA is phenomenal, and you didn't do that bad on the DAT either. 2 years ago, average DAT for matriculated students was 19.2 and TS was around 19-ish as well (right around your ally)

i honestly think you're fine. Keep your head up and im almost sure you will get in a descent school.

I think you should retake if you want to attend a good school. With that GPA it's very possible if you raise your DAT.

Well I think they're suggesting a retake just to be safe. But I think the op will get in somewhere with their stats...but hey you never know.

I think you should retake if you want to attend a good school. With that GPA it's very possible if you raise your DAT.

whats a good school? how can a 4.0 and 19 be detrimental? that makes no sense, look at the average stats. most people dont have a 25AA. average is infact an 18 or 19, but the GPA is usually around 3.4 to 3.5.

I had my DAT score sent to University of Kentucky, University of Louisville, A.T. Still University, and Nova Southeastern.

I'm also president of my sorority and involved/an officer in about 5 different campus organizations, if that helps at all.

I've had people tell me that with my involvement, personality and GPA that a retake isn't necessary, and also some tell me that I should retake to be safe. :S I wish I had gotten a score that made that decision for me!!

Contrary to frog's advice, I think your a guaranteed shoe in; my friend got into Harvard with a 3.9 and 20AA, I can't see how you wouldn't get into state schools. Enjoy dental school

Wait... ur only applying to 4 schools? Even if you had a higher TS, I would still encourage you to apply to more.

There is no way I would retake honestly. Your GPA is great, and it seems like you have the extracurriculars to suggest you won't bomb the interview. I think you are good. Only way I'd say retake if you get a 19 is if one of your sections was a scary low score, or you didn't have a solid GPA. Or, I guess if you wanted in to Harvard/Columbia/etc.

A 19 isn't a bad score by any means. I think people around here get too used to seeing the really serious people on this board posting 23-25 scores.
