Hello everyone,
I am positing Here to ask for little advise. I am lost and confuse on what to do next. I am applying to dental school for the second time and took the dat 3 times already. I applied to 21 schools and so far did not hear back from any schools. I applied August 31 and my application was verified on September 19. I have about 8 schools left but I have no hope for the cycle. I need advise on what I should do? Any advise would help. My current dat and gpa is as following. Keep in mind English is my second language. Should I retake the dat?
Bio:20
Chem:20
Organic:23
Pat:19
AA:19
TS:21
Reading:17
Math:16
Current gpa science:3.18
Total:3.22
Please provide any feedback or advise would be highly appericiate it.

Retake it and practice and study more seriously or systematically. Reading is mostly speed (not critical thinking) and math is pretty objective. If you practice math you improve- a 16 is a sign that you weren't practicing much.

i have similar gpa as you. I studied for 5 weeks, from mid July to aug 22. English is also my second language (fluent in both).
bio:19
GC:25
OC:23
PAT: 23
RC: 23
QR: 25
TS:22, AA:23
just retake it. it's definitely possible to do better. there're so many resources to use, esp. dat destroyer and bootcamp.
math is just practice and memorizing couple things. reading is strategy and practice. bio is **** ton of memorizing (i had not enough time). PAT is also practice and bit of strategy/your own method on angle ranking section. chemistry is a bit of thinking so solid background knowledge is key. if i were you i would retake it and treat as your last time (you need to apply for another attempt).
i finalized my app a bit later than you did, some schools in early october. i applied to 14, 2 denied, 5 interviews, rest are still "under review"....(tufts didn't even start reviewing). i regret so much for applying late. so many schools didn't even look at my app till early february. and most schools i interviewed at didn't have enough seats for me and i was waitlisted. so apply early!!

I would retake the DAT and aim for a higher reading and math score. Also, I think you applied kinda late because late August is when schools really start sending out interview invites and if that's when you just get your things in, well you might get lost in the giant pile of applications. I'd recommend applying and getting all materials submitted no later than the end of July.
