I feel so lost. I'm planning on taking the DAT at the end of the summer, but I've heard get your application in early. So can I apply and then take the day in August and still be considered by dental schools?

Also how do you get approved to take the DAT?

Why not take earlier than August? 10-12 weeks of diligent studying should be plenty of time.

You need to create a dentpin and then pay and apply to take the DAT. Your application will get approved within a day or so and then you can schedule your test date.

If you have high enough DAT scores and GPA you will get interviews. Don't make the mistake of taking the DAT before you are fully prepared. I have 175 students studying with us in NY this summer, our course does not complete until Mid August, student that do well on the DAT and have adequate GPA's will get interviews. I have been working with students a lot of years and this is always the case.

If you are ready earlier by all means take it, just don't rush into it.
