Dat and applications

I applied to MCG, MUSC, Louisville, UAB, and UF. Here are my credentials:

GPA: 3.85
Science GPA: 3.8
Top pre-med school
DAT: AA: 21 PAT: 15

My question is how competitive will I be with these credentials. Also I am retaking the DAT this week and wondered if dental schools will take the better of the two. Like combine my AA from my previous one and just look at my PAT from the retake. Please let me know if anyone has any info on this and what you think my chances are.

Also, is it true that dental schools will not review my application until they receive my latest scores, if I put on my app that I am retaking DAT.

This won't be a ton of help, but I think some schools average, some schools take the best, and some take the latest scores. I would call up schools and see what they say. Your AA looks good, but some schools really do like a high PAT so hopefully your retake will show an increase in that. Your GPA is solid though, so just work on your PAT (try Crack DAT PAT if you don't have it already).

And, they will look at both of your DAT scores for sure. I would think individually too, I don't think they would mix and match your scores, but not totally sure on that last statement.

If you mention in your app that you are retaking they might wait to see your scores, but if you're planning on applying this cycle, I wouldn't be surprised if you get some rejections before you retake, because it's pretty late to be applying this time around.

I have already applied. All of my apps were submitted before July 1st and my supplementals were submitted as soon as I received them. Thanks for all the help!!
