Im still a freshmen, but I was wondering when should I actually start studying for the DAT? I'm only taking basic classes this year, I start taking Bio, Chem, etc. fall 08, and does that put me at an disadvantage when I apply?

Your schedule will have you finishing with organic 2 in the spring of your junior year, which is the perfect time to take the DAT. Try to plan it so that you have a lighter course load that semester. Most people say it's overkill to study more than a few months in advance.

Lol so it isn't really a good idea to study starting now? I plan on applying at the end of my junior year, around may im guessing, because I don't plan on taking anytime off.

Your Science preparation starts from the semester you take any of the pre-reqs that will be tested on the DAT. So studying hard for any of the pre-req courses is itself a preparation.

Don't worry too much about it until later. Enjoy your freshman and sophomore years, and focus on it your Junior year. As Sajjy said, it'll end up that you'll be studying for it while you study for your classes. Anyway, some people also say that studying for it for 2-3 weeks is fine.
